My Review:
Awesomeness with a side of swoon!

I love the Rogue Heart series, it's probably one of my all time favorite series. I love the characters, setting and writing. I love that each book can stand on its own, but characters are referenced in each others books, which helps to connect everything together. I actually started this series with book two and then went back and read the first book. I think Ms. Hatch does an excellent job having each book focus on a certain couple, but still have previous characters play a role without taking over the story. Which I think would be hard to do. Anyway, on to my review...

I have been so curious about Grant since the beginning, he's so untouchable, grumpy and mysterious. He is loyal to his family, even if at times he doesn't seem to like them much. I loved that we finally got to see things from his POV and learn his story and what makes him tick. He definitely has reasons for his many walls and my heart broke for him at times. I have also been very curious about what kind of woman could get through to him, and Jocelyn Fairly was a perfect match. I liked Jocelyn quite a bit, I loved that she was a happy person, quick to smile. Yet, she had a lot of depth and strength. She was smart and determined. It was easy to see how someone as rough and cautious as Grant would fall for someone like Jocelyn.

We know Grant helps out with Bow Street Runners, so it was fun to see him in his element trying to solve a mystery. I also liked to see that he had high standards and always tried to do the right thing and help others. Jocelyn and Grant were great together, their relationship built at a believable pace and had plenty of swoony moments.

I am still anxious to read about the Amesbury sisters and look forward to reading their books and reuniting with the whole Amesbury clan. Which is another thing I love about this series, how loyal they are to each other and always there to help in times of need. I love the scenes when they're all together.

Overall, a great regency!

Cookie Girl Christmas by Christene Houston

Cookie Girl Christmas (Snowflake Falls Inn Romance, #1)Cookie Girl Christmas by Christene Houston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this one. Full of Christmas fun and a Swoony romance.

When I pick up a Christmas story, I want to really feel the fun and spirit of the holidays. A lot of times, the books are simply set during December and you don't really get too much Christmas cheer. Cookie Girl Christmas really exceeded my expectations, it was filled with Christmas cheer. I loved the setting, the cookies, the parties, all of it. Really a great book to get you in the mood for Christmas.

Molly was a very likable heroine. I loved the evolution her character goes through and how she is able to really take a look at her life and be brave enough to try and make changes. I loved Greyson as well, his sarcastic personality and dry humor were fun. I thought they had a fun relationship and I loved when they had a lot of page time together. I thought things moved at a believable pace. Lots of chemistry, fun and heartwarming moments. I liked that they opened up about their pasts and were able to be there for each other.

Overall, this was just an enjoyable read for me. For the most part it was a light and fun book, but did have some deeper moments that I felt helped make the whole book more well-rounded. I would highly recommend this to anyone and look forward to reading more from Ms. Houston! I'll definitely will be keeping my eye out for more books from her.

Kisses in the Rain by Krista Lynne Jensen

Kisses in the RainKisses in the Rain by Krista Lynne Jensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was initially drawn to this because of the super cute cover. I love it! I've also read and enjoyed this author before so I knew it was one I would like. I couldn't remember what it was about when I picked it up, decided to just dive in and see where the story took me. It's kind of fun to just start a book without reading the synopsis or others reviews.

Anyway, Jace and Georgie are both getting out of relationships that ended badly. They are not looking to meet anyone and probably want to avoid dating actually. Georgie was in a recent car accident and is struggling with healing physically and emotionally. She doesn't trust easily, but is trying to get back to her old self. Jace is upset about his breakup and doesn't make a great first impression with Georgie.

I liked this one, I wish we could have seen Georgie when she was more back to normal. We kind of meet her when she is in the middle of dealing with her grief and other issues. We get
hints of her "fun" side and I would have liked to see her more when she was a little more healed, I guess. I liked her though, she went through a lot, but she was a fighter and determined to figure out her mess and move on with life. I liked Jace, he was a good character and good for Georgie. I thought they were cute together. I was excepting a more lighthearted story, it was a little more serious than I anticipated, but not in a bad way.

I loved the small town charm, the atmosphere of the restaurant and the overall story. It was a nice escape for a bit and an enjoyable read. I'd easily recommend it to fans of the genre.
