Character Casting Reveals, Part I

My friend Kathy Jo (from KJs Book Nook) helped me do the character casting for Swoon Fest. We had a lot of fun putting these together. We realize not everyone will agree with our choices, we didn't even agree on all of them. We tried to use the ones Marcia listed on her site (but, we did tweak a few of those). We'd love to hear what you think and who you would choose if you were doing the casting!
The Bewitching of Amoretta Ipswich

UPDATE: Had some feedback and requests for a new Aspen, so Kathy Jo did a little digging and came up with this. Which do you like better??
Time of Aspen Falls
The Haunting of Autumn Lake
The Chimney Sweep Charm
Kiss in the Dark
An Old-Fashioned Romance
To Echo the Past

  2. Love these! I'm not really feeling Aspen, but I don't know who I would pick. Yes, we all have different ideas in our heads, don't we? :)

  3. I love your choices! The pic of Kellan Lutz as Michael McCall looks like he could be a descendant of Jackson McCall!! I can't wait to see who you pick as Jackson McCall and Ransom Lake, my FAV MLM western historical novel heroes!!

  4. Katie-I think that was Kathy Jo's pick, I can't remember the actresses name. :)

Judy-Jackson and Ransom were two of the hardest ones to cast! They are two of my very favorite MLM heroes. :) If I remember right, on Marcia's site they had Hugh Jackson as Ransom, but I didn't think he was a good fit. At least for me. Kathy Jo picked someone else... I'll have to do their reveals next Thursday. :)

    1. Whenever I read a MLM historical western, the hero's voice in my head sounds like Sam Elliott!!

  6. Can I just say how much fun I had casting these books with Kathy?! It was a big job and a lot harder then I thought it was going to be because there were just SO many books but it was still lots of fun! :) After re-reading some of the books there have been a couple of castings that just don't fit for me anymore... Aspen being one of them! Lol. I agree 100% with you Katie... my original pick just isn't right. I have found a new Aspen but don't worry ladies... Jay Ryan stays! He is the perfect Rake in my opinion! ;)

  7. Kathy Jo- If you want to send me your new Aspen I'll put it on the next reveal, or maybe we'll do a little voting post and see who people like more? That might be fun too.

  8. I'm reading The Chimney Sweep Charm right now and I am LOVING picturing Jensen Ackles as Justice! I'm a huge Supernatural fan so this is fun!! ;)

  9. Tori, Thanks good to hear! I haven't watched Supernatural, but I am a fan of his too. KJ and I did this casting a month or so ago based just on their character descriptions, and now that we're re-reading the stories some of the casting isn't fitting with the characters personalities anymore. ;)

  10. I love that you cast Liam!!! I think he's a great fit as Gentry. I like his brother too....the one who plays Thor...can't think of his name. :) Which is funny because I'm definitely a "Tall, dark, and handsome" kind of girl...and they are both lighter. :) I love that almost everyone of Marcia's characters have dark hair for that reason. Probably because my own Tall, dark, and handsome husband. :)

    1. Heidi- Liam is a favorite of mine and so is his brother. Don't worry, Chris Hemsworth has been cast as well in one of the westerns. ;) I think all of Marcia's heroes have either brown or black hair. :)
