Help! I Need Book Club Suggestions

so many books so little time Pictures, Images and Photos

My book club will be meeting next week (we'll be discussing Secret Life of Bees and Pride & Prejudice). While there we will also be discussing which books we want to read in 2009. I would love to have some suggestions on which books you've read and loved or ones that you want to read. Please leave a comment with any book ideas that you have. Thanks!

  1. As far as ones I think would play well with book groups, most recently I've really enjoyed Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn and A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce. The first is a Victorian mystery (first in a series) and the second is a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin set in pre-Industrial England. Both wonderful.

  2. Any books by Jodi Picoult are probably obvious, but I'm sure you'd get a lot to discuss.

If you don't mind creepy novels, Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn has a lot you could talk about! It's one crazy novel, but I loved it.

Umm...for classics. I love The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar wilde and the play by him The Important of Being Earnest...fast read, but fun!
